Paediatric Research Nurse
I am employed by Solent NHS Trust as a part-time Paediatric Research Nurse in the Research & Improvement Team.
My responsibilities are varied and include networking, negotiating with study teams, setting up research studies which involves recruiting participants, data collecting, sample taking and storing of samples. It also involves monitoring and archiving of research studies.
I am a registered Midwife and Health Visitor. I then took up a research post with the National Institute for Health Research as a Senior Research Assistant on the Health Technology Assessment Programme, Women and Children’s Health Panel. After a year, I reduced my hours to part-time to take on another part-time post as a Research Midwife with the Medical Research Council on the NiPPeR study; to examine the impact of nutrients before and during pregnancy on the health of mothers and their babies.
Why I love my job
Although I am very new to this post, I am excited about the work that I will be doing and the people I am working with.
More about me
Outside of work, I enjoy walking our family dog, keeping healthy and fit and watching foodie programmes.
