The training has been tailored for operations and service 
managers who would like to know more about understanding and managing increasing demand, difficulties coordinating capacity, or lengthening waits and delays.

What it provides:

  • Key demand and capacity principles such as ways to measure and manage your service demand and capacity.

  • How to match capacity to demand.

  • What is meant by a sustainable waiting list size.

  • Strategies for effective waiting list management.

What it involves:

  • We will explore how this information can be used to identify ways to monitor and improve patient flow.  

  • The day will be a mixture of taught content, interactive exercises, alongside plenty of discussion.

  • This workshop will be delivered by Dr Helen Wharam, Advanced QI Methodologist, and Michael Rice, Operations Manager for Adults Portsmouth Specialist Services
