2021 Learning from Excellence Awards

Nominations open

We are pleased to share that submissions for the 2021 Learning from Excellence Awards (LfE) are now open, and we'd like to encourage you to nominate any Solent staff, patients or community members who have made a difference.

The aim of the awards are to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution these people have made; you can nominate anyone for something great that they have done, or for a time that they have gone the extra mile. All those nominated are winners and will receive a gift of recognition in time for Christmas.

Learning from Excellence was established in 2014 with the aim of learning from what is working well in organisations, and to provide positive feedback. It started with the capturing and studying of peer-reported excellence in healthcare, which was then shared and celebrated. Excellence in healthcare is highly prevalent and the belief is that by studying excellence it can create new opportunities for learning and improving, as well as staff morale.

For Solent NHS Trust this will be the third round of the awards and we've had more than 150 previous winners. Learning from Excellence is a great opportunity to say thank you and recognise the greatness of those who have been nominated.

What previous nominees have said:

"[this was] such a big surprise, I wasn’t expecting an award. It has made such as difference"

"Thank you, unexpected, reading the message and knowing why, was a great touch"

"The message, knowing why I got this award, is so heart-warming"

Deadline: Friday 3rd December
