Quality of Life, Mobility and Diabetic Foot Ulcer Treatment
People with diabetes are at increased risk of having multiple foot wounds over their lifetime. To help the treatment of these wounds, people are offered plaster casts or similar devices to help support the foot to heal effectively. However, the impact of having to wear a cast or similar device repeatedly and over longer periods is not clear and may in fact limit a person's quality of life or mobility. Understanding this in the future will help clinicians and patients to better understand and choose the most appropriate treatment option for each individual and their needs.
This study aims to determine how using a cast or similar device impacts upon a person’s mobility and quality of life.
