Solent is a research active Trust; this means that we are dedicated to engaging in and carrying out research in order to study things that impact the health and care of our communities.

Here at the Academy, we try to make research as accessible as possible for our colleagues as well as anyone who uses our services.

Interested in a career in research?

There are a number of different roles and professions available if you are interested in a career in research.

Whilst there are two main "pathways" that we refer to as Research Delivery careers and Clinical Academic careers, there is often an overlap between them and as research becomes more important in all healthcare roles, there is less of a distinction between the two.
