Core Team

My role

My role is Paediatric Research Nurse

My responsibilities

My responsibilities include scoping out posisble Paediatric research studies and delivering them within the research team. I liaise with Paediatric clinicians within our Trust and local Clinical Research Network to promote Paediatric research. I am also a Research Champion representing Wessex for the Institute of Health Visiting.

My background

I studied for a degree in Psychology and then completed my adult nurse training and studied for a Masters Degree alongside.  I was seconded to complete my Paediatric Nurse training by Portsmouth Hospitals Trust. I worked as a Paediatric nurse on Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Southampton before I joined the School Nurse teams in Portsmouth and then Havant.

I completed my post graduate diploma in Public Health Nursing and qualified as a Health Visitor. I joined the Academy of Research and Improvement November 2017.

Why I love my job

I love my job because each day is different, I work with and get to meet lots of interesting people. I love my job because research makes a difference and informs our practice.

More about me

I would rather be outdoors than indoors. I love living near the sea and star gazing. I try to be active and have recently begun to enjoy running rather than doing it to exercise.
