This study aims to find out if there are markers in the blood (biomarkers) that can help us diagnose a stroke and if there are genes that can us help understand who is at risk of stroke. We will also investigate whether there are biomarkers or genes that might help improve recovery from stroke and if routine medical data collected over a life time can help improve stroke care.
Who can be involved?
Adults over the age of 18, who present to or are referred to the stroke service
What happens to people taking part in this research?
Taking part in this study involves the study team collecting information from your records such as your contact details, hospital number and NHS number. They will also take information from your medical notes which include imaging, blood results and details of your diganosis. You will also be asked to provide extra blood samples.
